DMX has been ordered to stay in jail for an extra week after he was allegedly caught with drugs.
The troubled rapper was due to be released today, however, authorities supposedly caught him with illegal substances at a state prison in Yuma, Arizona. TMZ reports that DMX has broken a string of offences and rules in the past month including: drug possession, failing or refusing to take a drug test, acting disrespectfully to the staff, smoking in unauthorised areas and engaging in disorderley or disruptive conduct.
Gary Jenkins, DMX’s lawyer told MTV News that he is looking into the allegations against his client, but he did confirm that the rapper’s refusal to take a drug test automatically extended his stay in prison until July 19th.
In December, he was transferred to mental health unit for an undiagnosed condition but was soon sent back to prison. DMX’s manager Nadia Walker has defended him saying that he is sick and if he received proper treatment for his illness, then he wouldn’t have to take drugs.
Meanwhile, his new single ‘Y’all Don’t Know’ featuring Busta Rhymes is expected to drop within the next few weeks.
Do you think DMX is sick or is it just an excuse?
